Charging is done using a power supply (Sorensen DCS 55-55, 55V/55A). Although just about any lab grade power supply that can put out the voltage and current desired would work. Most lab grade power supplies have an adjustable current limit which is very handy for emulating some of the charging algorithms. The discharging is done using an electronic load (Kikusui PLZ603W, 600W). Most electronic loads allow you to program a load current or load power. Probably doesn't have to be quite so sophisticated, but it makes for nice graphs. Data acquisition is done using a Keithley Model 2700 Multimeter/Data acquisition system. This system has model 7700 plug in that allows 20 channels to be scanned. The data is stored internal to the unit and can be downloaded to a PC when the test is finished.
